Panagiotis Skaltsis is Professor of Liturgics in the Department of Theology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) (ΦΕΚ 599/26-6-08 ΤΓ). He studied at the University of Thessaloniki and continued his studies in Liturgics at the ISTITUTO ORIENTALE of Rome. He teaches History and the Theology of Worship, Hymnology and Interpretation of liturgical texts, history and theology of the Sacraments and the Christian Calendar of Feasts. His main academic works are: 1) Marriage and the Divine Liturgy. Contributions to the History and Theology of Worship, Thessaloniki, 1998. 2) The tradition of public and private prayer, with special references to the Horologion of Thykara, Thessaloniki 2008. 3) Liturgical Studies 1 and 2, Thessaloniki, 2007 and 2009 respectively. He is a member of the International Society Sezione Liturgica and member of Synodal Committees of the Church of Greece. He is also jointly responsible for the weekly liturgical training for students in the Chapel of the Theological School.
